First Pitch = Last Gasp

Those who know me at all know how deep my aversion to sports is. My usual response to "Hey, it's Opening Day, and the Braves are playing the Nationals at the new stadium in DC" is something like "Umm, I don't really follow hockey that closely..."

However, it's exception time here. Check out President Bush as he heads to the mound to throw out the ceremonial first pitch yesterday and the crowd erupts in boos! Note how the announcers carefully ignore it as they praise his throw.

Did you see this on the evening news, or in your local paper? Didn't think so, but it's been all over the blogosphere. Best comment to date came from somebody named tim osman, in a discussion at The Swamp entitled "More cheers or boos?" He is short and sweet:
Too bad it wasn't Brick Day at the stadium.
